The enthusiastic response to my campaign announcement has confirmed that I made the right decision to enter the race, and that there is a groundswell of support for new voices and fresh ideas on the Cambridge City Council.

Please join me at my campaign kickoff event on Sunday, May 3rd from 3-5 pm at the Summer Shack. The event is free and open to all. We will offer light refreshments and a cash bar. Please bring friends or neighbors who may not know me already, or who want to learn more about what I stand for.

RSVP here and share the event link in your network.

I chose the Alewife location for my launch party because much of my activism with the Fresh Pond Residents Alliance has focused on the planning mistakes that have made the area one of the city’s greatest missed opportunities. It is also the area where the effects of climate change will be most pronounced, and where transportation by any mode is the most dysfunctional (though hopefully not on a Sunday afternoon!). As the city grapples with how to continue to develop Alewife and faces other critical issues, the Council will need a voice that demands greater creativity, accountability and transparency in all decisions than we’ve seen thus far. I would like the opportunity to be that voice.

If you would like to make a contribution to my campaign, you may bring a check to the party, payable to Devereux for Council, or mail it to 255 Lakeview Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138. You may also donate online.
